The Liv Hospitality corporate vision is to be the leader in the hospitality industry for western South Dakota. We maintain an acute understanding of the seasonal tourism fluctuations for the Black Hills region and develop the type of sustainable programs that keep our properties and our Guests satisfied year-round.

Caleb Arceneaux, Chief Executive Officer
Caleb joined Liv Hospitality in May 2008 after spending nearly 15 years as a hospitality professional in hotel, casino, and food and beverage operations. His hotel management experience originates in the Pacific Northwest where he worked within several full-service resorts and limited-service products uniquely qualifying him to lead the Liv Hospitality portfolio of properties. Caleb has an extensive knowledge base in player reinvestment strategies, direct marketing, promotional programs, operational efficiencies, internal controls and maximizing ROI with various CRM management systems. Mr. Arceneaux has in-depth experience in both commercial and Native American casino jurisdictions. Caleb’s food and beverage experience originates in conference services and has developed into a solid background that consists of new construction project management, franchised food and beverage operations, menu development, cost control, and operational efficiencies. Mr. Arceneaux currently serves on the Business Improvement District Board of Directors for Rapid City as well as serving as the President of the Deadwood Gaming Association.
Ken Klug, Chief Financial Officer
Ken joined Liv Hospitality in March 2006. He oversees all financial aspects of Liv properties including payroll, taxes, internal controls, financial statements and budgeting. He provides nearly 20 years experience in finance and accounting in the hospitality and gaming industries. Ken specializes in establishing the financial components of startup properties, and served previously as an auditor with the South Dakota Commission on Gaming. Mr. Klug is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of South Dakota.
Mary Beth Seamands, Vice president of Marketing
Mary Beth joined Liv Hospitality in October 2011. She oversees the marketing efforts for the Liv portfolio. As a sales and marketing professional, Mary Beth specializes in elevating property image and increasing sales revenues. With over 16 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Mary Beth’s knowledge extends from administration, food and beverage operations to sales and marketing. She began her career in hospitality in Southern Arizona at a golf resort and spa. Her experience includes extensive renovation projects, brand transitions and complex properties. Working with Omni, Hilton, Starwood and independent properties, Mary Beth has gained an extensive knowledge in multiple management systems from limited-service to four-diamond resorts.
Kayti ratigan, vice president of revenue management
Mrs. Ratigan joined Liv Hospitality in April 2011 and has nearly 10 years of experience in Hotels and Tourism. Kayti has experience in timeshares, resorts, and all sizes of hotels. Kayti began her career in a timeshare resort in Orlando, Florida and quickly fell in love with the industry. Kayti has extensive knowledge in hotel operations, revenue management, front desk training, and sales techniques. Kayti is responsible for all Liv hotel property revenues, maximizing profits, and strategically placing hotel rates within the market for maximum profitability.
Jeff Paulsen, Senior Staff Accountant
Jeff joined the Liv Hospitality team in March of 2006. His primary responsibility is the daily accounting for the Liv Hospitality properties including payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable and cash management. Jeff was born and raised in Rapid City, SD, and gained valuable customer service and management skills in his 27 years in the machine shop industry. Mr. Paulsen attended National American University with an emphasis in accounting.
Pete Kjos, Human Resources
Pete joined the Liv Hospitality Management team in 2010, bringing with him over 20 years of experience in the hotel, resort and food and beverage industry. Raised in Spearfish, SD, he has been associated with private entities as well as acclaimed companies such as Wyndham, IHG, Carlson, Marriott and Hilton. He has a well-rounded knowledge in the hospitality field, holding such positions as Head Chef, Food and Beverage Director, Property Manager, Chief Engineer and General Manager. Mr. Kjos’s training, experience and certifications in the field have led to his current position in Human Resources.
Domico Rodriguez, vice president of Operations
Mr. Rodriguez joined Liv Hospitality in July 2015 after spending nearly 15 years in the hospitality industry in Western South Dakota including casino, food & beverage and hotel experience. Domico spent the previous five years before Liv Hospitality working for the Conventions & Visitors Bureau as the Director of Sports & Events and worked closely with organizations such as the Lakota Nations Invitational and the South Dakota High School Activities Association to bring and keep events in Rapid City. Domico has a Mass Communications degree from Black Hills State University and excels in team recruitment and team building.
Liz Patton, CREATIVE MANAGER
Born and raised in the Black Hills, Liz began her creative career as an independent designer for local clients and businesses. She officially joined the Liv Hospitality team in August 2012 as the in-house graphic designer. She brings with her a creative mind and an extensive knowledge in marketing and graphic design, including continued education certifications in various Adobe design programs. As the team’s creative manager, Liz’s role is to develop and maintain consistent branding, research growing trends, manage internal creative projects and oversee all advertising and marketing efforts for Liv’s resort properties in Rapid City and Deadwood, SD.
Lynzie montague, vice president of sales
Lynzie joined Liv Hospitality in July 2012 and has over 10 years of sales experience. Lynzie started her career with Liv Hospitality as the Director of Sales for the Hotel Alex Johnson. From there, she was promoted to Hotel General Manager where she converted the property from a Choice Hotel to the Hilton Worldwide family of brands. Lynzie brings with her extensive knowledge ranging from operations, revenue management, food and beverage, sales techniques and customer service. Lynzie is responsible for all Liv hotel property sales, bringing in new groups, growing revenue, maximizing profitability, training, and networking.
Kimberly douthwaite, office manager
Delivering outstanding customer service is just a normal part of Kim’s day as the Liv Hospitality Office Manager. She is responsible for all office administrative functions, using her organizational proficiency to ensure smooth operations while coordinating the standard daily operations of the corporate office. It makes for a busy work environment, but Kim believes being able to draw on her education in computer programming along with her 11 years of insurance account management prior to joining the Liv team has benefited tremendously. She is looking forward to growing with Liv as it grows; a locally owned company firmly rooted in the Black Hills and run by a team that has worked together for a long time. It is rare to find such a great group of people that share a common vision for excellence that have formed a culture oriented toward success for both its guests and employees alike.
valerie graumann, graphic designer
Valerie joined Liv Hospitality as a graphic designer in October 2016. She is responsible for developing consistent brand creative for all Liv properties. Valerie has an education in apparel design and converted those skills to four years of graphic design experience with various companies. The experience of owning her own graphic design firm, along with living abroad and in several 'melting pots', gave her an understanding in the importance of relations, business and culture. Throughout the years, Valerie has made it her mission to make the most of every moment and opportunity. She believes there is always room to grow and that life is too short not to go big.
